Restylane®

Restylane® is a biodegradable gel based on hyaluronic acid, a substance that occurs naturally in the skin. Since Restylane® is based on a non-animal, naturally occurring substance, it reduces the risk of any allergic reaction, disease transmission, or other complications from occurring. In addition, no skin test is required prior to treatment. When injected, it can smooth wrinkles and folds, add volume to your lips, or give shape to your facial contours.
The Restylane® treatment sessions take less than 30 minutes and patients can return to their normal routine soon after. The results are instantaneous and last anywhere from six to 12 months. Since Restylane® is biodegradable, when it breaks down, it turns into water and carbon dioxide, and disappears without a trace from your body. In order to maintain a younger-looking appearance, it may be recommended to undergo additional treatment sessions. Dr. Pertsch may also recommend other facial rejuvenating procedures to achieve an overall enhancement via non-invasive treatments.
Some of the most commonly combined treatments include BOTOX® Cosmetic injections, chemical peels, laser resurfacing, and microdermabrasion. BOTOX® Cosmetic can help block muscle movement in the treated area in order to prevent lines and wrinkles from forming. This is often used in the forehead, between the brows, around the eyes, and in the nasolabial folds. Sun spots, acne scars, and uneven pigmentation may be treated with chemical peels, laser resurfacing and/or microdermabrasion.
The combination of one or more of these treatments with Restylane® injections can help patients achieve a refreshed and youthful appearance.
